How to Improve a Blurry Logo Using Image Upscaler in Canva
Blurry logos are a common issue, especially when customers only have a low resolution file. Canva’s Image Upscaler app is a quick and practical way to improve logo quality before printing. Below is a simple step by step guide you can follow.
Step 1: Crop the logo using any external editor (optional)
Before uploading to Canva, crop the logo using any image editor (such as Preview, Photoshop, or even your phone). Make sure to:
- Remove all unnecessary background space
- Keep only the logo area as tight as possible
This step is quite important because it allows the image upscaler to offer a higher upscaling options.
Step 2: Upload the logo and create a new design
Upload the cropped logo into Canva and create a new design project. Use a large canvas size so the upscaled image has enough working space.
Step 3: Find the Image Upscaler app
Click Apps on the left hand toolbar, search for Image Upscaler, and open the app.

Step 4: Upscale the logo
Select the logo and upscale it. Start with 4x or 8x, and increase further if needed depending on the original quality.

Step 5: Repeat if needed
If the result is still not sharp enough, you may run the Image Upscaler again on the new image to further improve the resolution.
Important tips
- This method works best for simple logos and graphics
- Always check the result at 100% zoom before printing
- If the logo is extremely pixelated, it is still better to request a vector file (PDF, AI, EPS, SVG)
This method is especially useful when preparing customer logos for large format printing such as flags, banners, and signage.
