Custom Bunting NZ
Custom Bunting NZ – Quick Guide
Each string: 20 metres long with 50 custom bunting flags. Standard flag size is approximately 300 × 200mm, available in triangle or rectangle shapes.
Material and printing: full-colour digital printing on durable 110gsm outdoor polyknit fabric, with hot-cut edges and strong bunting tape/string. Standard printed bunting is single-sided, with colour showing through more lightly and mirrored on the reverse.
Multiple designs: include up to 5 different designs on each 20m string at no extra cost. Different strings in the same order can also use completely different artwork.
Production: normally around 5 working days after payment and artwork approval. Large orders or strings containing many different designs may take longer, so tell us your required date before ordering.
How pricing works: the displayed price is the unit price for one 20m string at the selected quantity tier. For example, to order 10 strings, select the 10–14 tier and set the cart quantity to 10.
Current prices: from $61 + GST per triangle string for 50+ strings. One triangle string is $105 + GST and one rectangle string is $127 + GST.

2. Triangle or Rectangle Custom Bunting Flags?
- The traditional bunting shape.
- A cost-effective choice for colour, simple logos and decorative patterns.
- Popular for festivals, parties, schools, promotions and outdoor events.
- Lower unit price than rectangle bunting.
- More usable print area for logos, words and detailed artwork.
- Often better for corporate branding, sponsors and multiple business identities.
- Suitable for retail stores, councils, trade events and long promotional runs.
- Priced higher because of the additional fabric and finishing.
If you are unsure which shape will make your artwork easiest to read, send us the logo and wording. We can recommend the most suitable option before you order.
3. How Custom Printed Bunting Quantity and Pricing Work
Each product quantity represents one 20m string. The variant selected sets the unit-price tier; the cart quantity sets how many strings you are buying.
- Choose Triangle or Rectangle.
- Select the tier matching the total number of strings in the order.
- Set the cart quantity to the actual number of 20m strings required.
Different artwork can still share the quantity price. For example, 5 strings using Design A plus 5 strings using Design B equals 10 strings in one order. Select the 10–14 tier and set the cart quantity to 10.
See the complete live unit-price table in Section 11.
4. Multiple Designs on Custom Printed Bunting Flags
Custom printed bunting can repeat one design or combine several logos, faces, colours or messages.
- Include up to 5 different designs on each string at no extra cost.
- Each string in the same order can use completely different artwork.
- Ten different designs on one string can be produced with a current additional charge of approximately 10% for manual sorting and assembly; contact us before ordering.
- More designs can increase production time.
- Blank flags can be alternated with printed flags, but the price remains the same because most production cost is in printing setup, sorting and assembly.
Please state the required arrangement clearly. Tell us which designs belong on each string, the sequence in which they should repeat, and whether the designs should be distributed equally. We will prepare a mockup for your approval before production.
The product page accepts one artwork upload. For several designs, combine the files into a ZIP folder or a multi-page PDF, and label each file clearly.
5. Single-Sided vs Double-Sided Printed Flag Bunting
- Correct-reading artwork on the main printed side.
- Colour shows through more lightly on the reverse.
- Logos and wording appear mirrored from the reverse side.
- Best value and suitable for most custom flag bunting installations.
- Made as a special order when correct-reading artwork is needed from both directions.
- Requires extra printed fabric and substantially more assembly.
- Usually costs approximately three times the standard single-sided bunting.
- Contact us with the quantity, shape and artwork requirements for a quote.
We recommend keeping all single-sided flags facing the same direction. Alternating the front and reverse of every second flag can look inconsistent because the reverse is lighter and mirrored.

- Use CMYK or Pantone Solid Coated colour references where possible.

- The strong bunting tape/string will generally outlast flags exposed to damaging wind.
- Indoor bunting can normally be used many times when handled and stored carefully.
- Outdoor lifespan depends on wind, weather, UV exposure and how continuously it is displayed. Many customers use it for one event; it may last for a couple of months in suitable conditions.

Flag and Banner Maintenance
While our high precision sewing and heavy-duty European ink is at the best of the best in the market, the inevitable wear of time will fade your flags and banners. Here are some quick tips to keep your flags or banners in a longer lifetime:
1. Keep out of direct sunlight when not needed - our UV-resistant European ink still fare better without UV rays
2. Ensure there are NO nearby rough walls, poles or plants that will damage the fabric - constant friction may cause irregular tear, as the number one reason for failure.
3. Make sure the flag or banner is setup correctly - push flag to the end of pole tip and tie the cord stopper accordingly
4. Keep your poles for your teardrop or feather banners away from surrounding objects - avoid pole damage caused by collision with other strong obstacles due to wind
5. Not for very windy days - it's a good idea to take down your large banners if wind speeds exceed 55km/h, your small banners if wind speeds exceed 65km/h
6. Wash only when necessary - when washing do not use detergent, rinse in water only, no washing machine.
