This lightweight flag carry bag is designed for storing and transporting the flag and pole sections from our main portable advertising flag kitsets. It is suitable for teardrop flag kitsets, feather flag kitsets and our medium rectangle flag kitsets.

The zipped bag measures approximately 185mm wide × 1540mm long and includes an inner waterproof layer to help protect flags and pole sections during normal transport and storage. A long external front pocket provides separate space for selected compact flag bases and accessories.

Important: Keep Heavy Flag Bases Out of the Zipped Compartment

The main zipped compartment is for lightweight items only: your flag and pole sections. Do not place flag bases, steel hardware or other heavy accessories inside the zip compartment.

Heavy items pull against the fabric and zipper while the bag is being lifted or carried. If bases are stored inside the zipped section, the zipper can fail in a very short time.

Correct packing: flag + poles inside the zipped main compartment; compatible compact bases in the long external front pocket; large or heavy bases transported separately.

2. What Should Go Inside the Zipped Flag Bag?

The zipped main compartment is designed around the lightweight parts of a portable flag kitset. This normally means:

  • Your folded custom-printed flag
  • Teardrop flag pole sections
  • Feather flag pole sections
  • Medium rectangle flag pole sections
  • Other small lightweight flag accessories that cannot damage the zip

When packing, keep pole sections together and fold the flag neatly rather than forcing it into the bag. Make sure the flag is dry before long-term storage. Storing wet fabric for an extended period can lead to marks, odour or mildew.

Do Not Put Bases Inside the Main Zip

This is the most important care rule for the bag. A ground spike, cross base, wall-mount bracket, car-wheel base or other metal base may physically fit in the bag, but it should never be placed inside the zipped main compartment.

The bag itself is a lightweight transport and storage bag. It is not designed to suspend heavy steel hardware from the zipper.

3. Use the Long Front Pocket for Compact Flag Bases

The external front pocket keeps compact base hardware separate from the flag and pole sections. This reduces the chance of heavy or sharp metal parts rubbing against the printed fabric or placing unnecessary pressure on the main zipper.

Depending on the base and how it is packed, the front pocket can be used for compact accessories such as:

Do not overload the front pocket. Large weighted bases should still be carried separately. You can compare all available hardware on our 7 flag base options for teardrop and feather flags page.

4. Which Flag Kitsets Fit This Carry Bag?

This bag is useful because the main portable advertising flag systems use sectional poles that pack down for transport. One bag can therefore support several different flag styles.

Compatible Flag Kitset What Goes in the Main Zip Base Storage
Teardrop Flag Kitsets Printed teardrop flag + fibreglass pole sections Compact base in front pocket or heavy base separately
Feather Flag Kitsets Printed feather flag + fibreglass pole sections Compact base in front pocket or heavy base separately
Medium Rectangle Flag Kitsets Printed rectangle flag + sectional fibreglass pole set Compact base in front pocket or heavy base separately

Teardrop Flag Carry Bag

Our small and large teardrop flag kitsets use sectional fibreglass poles, so the flag and pole pieces can be packed into this carry bag after use. The curved teardrop flag should be folded dry and placed alongside the pole sections without heavy hardware sitting on top of it.

Feather Flag Carry Bag

The same bag can be used with our small and large feather flag kitsets. Feather flags are often moved between open homes, schools, events and business locations, so keeping the fabric and poles together in one bag makes repeated setup easier.

Rectangle Flag Carry Bag

Our medium rectangle flag kitset also uses a sectional pole system suitable for transport in this bag. Keep the rectangle flag and pole sections in the main compartment and the compact base hardware separate.

5. How to Pack Your Flag Kitset Correctly

  1. Take the flag down and make sure it is dry.
  2. Separate the pole sections and keep them together.
  3. Fold the flag neatly and place it with the pole sections inside the main zipped compartment.
  4. Keep all bases out of the main zip.
  5. Place only suitable compact bases in the long external front pocket.
  6. Carry large or heavy bases separately.
  7. Do not force the zipper. If the bag feels overfilled, remove items rather than pulling the zip under tension.

Following this packing method protects not only the carry bag but also the printed flag. Keeping metal bases away from the fabric reduces rubbing, snagging and unnecessary pressure during transport.

6. Heavy Flag Bases Should Be Transported Separately

Not every flag base belongs in a carry bag. Weighted bases are intentionally heavy because their job is to stabilise the flag outdoors or on hard surfaces.

For example, the 10kg steel plate base, 20kg steel plate base and large water-tank bases available through our flag base range should be transported separately from the carry bag.

This protects the bag, the zipper, the printed flag and the pole sections. It also makes the flag kitset easier and safer to carry.

7. When Is an Extra Flag Carry Bag Useful?

An additional carry bag can be useful when you have several advertising flags, replacement pole sets or flags that move between different locations.

  • Real estate agents transporting flags between open homes
  • Schools and sports clubs moving flags between events
  • Businesses storing seasonal promotional flags
  • Trade-show teams carrying several flag styles
  • Event companies organising flags, poles and compact bases separately
  • Customers who already own teardrop flags, feather flags or rectangle flags and want an extra storage bag

8. Flag Carry Bag FAQ

Will This Bag Fit Teardrop and Feather Flag Kitsets?

Yes. It is suitable for the flag and sectional pole sets used with our main small and large teardrop and feather flag kitsets.

Will It Fit a Medium Rectangle Flag Kitset?

Yes. The printed flag and sectional pole pieces from our medium rectangle flag kitset can be stored in the main compartment.

Can I Put a Ground Spike Inside the Zipped Compartment?

No. Do not place any flag base inside the zipped main compartment. A ground spike should be stored in the long external front pocket when practical.

Why Should Bases Be Kept Out of the Main Zip?

Flag bases are much heavier than the flag and pole sections. Their weight pulls against the bag and zipper during transport and can cause the zip to fail very quickly.

Which Bases Can Use the Long Front Pocket?

The long external pocket can be used for suitable compact hardware such as ground spikes, folded cross bases, wall brackets and car-wheel bases. Do not overload the pocket, and carry large weighted bases separately.

Can I Put a 10kg or 20kg Steel Plate Base in the Bag?

No. Steel plate bases are far too heavy for this lightweight flag carry bag and must be transported separately.

Is This a Heavy-Duty Equipment Bag?

No. It is a lightweight flag and pole carry/storage bag. It is not designed to carry heavy steel bases or other heavy equipment inside the zipped compartment.

Should I Store a Wet Flag in the Bag?

No. Allow the flag to dry fully before long-term storage. The waterproof inner layer helps protect the contents during normal transport, but wet fabric should not be sealed in the bag for extended periods.

Flag and Banner Maintenance

While our high precision sewing and heavy-duty European ink is at the best of the best in the market, the inevitable wear of time will fade your flags and banners. Here are some quick tips to keep your flags or banners in a longer lifetime:

1. Keep out of direct sunlight when not needed - our UV-resistant European ink still fare better without UV rays

2. Ensure there are NO nearby rough walls, poles or plants that will damage the fabric - constant friction may cause irregular tear, as the number one reason for failure.

3. Make sure the flag or banner is setup correctly - push flag to the end of pole tip and tie the cord stopper accordingly

4. Keep your poles for your teardrop or feather banners away from surrounding objects - avoid pole damage caused by collision with other strong obstacles due to wind

5. Not for very windy days - it's a good idea to take down your large banners if wind speeds exceed 55km/h, your small banners if wind speeds exceed 65km/h

6. Wash only when necessary - when washing do not use detergent, rinse in water only, no washing machine.
