Teardrop and feather poles are not the same length. The Large teardrop pole is approximately 4.3m, while the Large feather flag pole is approximately 3.9m. Always match the pole to the correct flag shape and size.
2. Teardrop Flag Pole and Base Compatibility
Check the base spindle before ordering. The bottom of each teardrop flag pole has a 14.5mm internal hole and fits a base spindle between 14.0mm and 14.4mm. Our standard flag bases use an approximately 14.2mm spindle.
A 16mm spindle is too large. If your base came from another supplier, measure the spindle diameter or send us a clear photo before ordering.
The same teardrop flag pole can move between different compatible bases as the display location changes. Compare all seven compatible bases for teardrop flag poles on one page.
3. Which Compatible Teardrop Flag Base Should I Use?
- For grass or firm soil, choose a ground spike base for teardrop flags.
- For regular use on concrete, a 10kg steel plate teardrop flag base provides a clean, durable setup.
- For more ballast on hard surfaces, compare the 20kg steel plate teardrop flag base or the portable water tank base for teardrop flags.
- For exhibitions and temporary indoor displays, the cross base with water weight bag is compact and easy to carry.
- For real estate open homes or vehicle-based displays, use a car wheel teardrop flag base under the wheel of a stationary vehicle.
- For a fixed wall or fence position, use a wall-mounted teardrop flag base.
No portable flag base is storm-proof. A heavier base can improve stability but does not make it safe to leave a teardrop flag outside during severe weather.
4. Compact Teardrop Flag Poles for Travel and Small Cars
Although the Large teardrop pole reaches approximately 4.3m when assembled, it separates into three sections for transport. Both Small and Large pole sets pack down to fit our 1.5m teardrop flag pole carry bag, making them practical to store and transport in many small cars.
To assemble the pole, connect every fibreglass section fully before sliding the flexible pole through the flag sleeve. Do not force a joint or use a section that is cracked, badly worn or not fully seated.
5. How to Help Fibreglass Teardrop Flag Poles Last for Years
Fibreglass teardrop flag poles are extremely robust when correctly assembled, used on a compatible rotating spindle and taken down during severe weather. With proper use, they can last for years.
Storm Damage: Strong Wind, Heavy Rain and a Wet Flag
Strong wind and heavy rain together place much more load on the pole. A wet flag becomes heavier while wind pressure increases, making the flexible fibreglass pole more vulnerable. Take the complete flag down during storms, strong winds and severe rain rather than relying only on a heavier base.
Bottom-Section Damage: Old Real Estate Flag Tube Holders
Real estate users sometimes insert a new fibreglass pole directly into an older flag tube holder that was not designed for this pole. This can concentrate stress at the bottom section and cause breakage. Do not insert the pole directly into the old tube. Secure a compatible ground spike into the existing tube first, then place the teardrop flag pole over the spike spindle.
- Connect every pole section fully before use.
- Use only a compatible 14.0–14.4mm rotating spindle.
- Do not bend the pole by hand or force it through the flag sleeve.
- Take the flag down during storms, strong winds and severe rain.
- Store the clean, dry pole sections in a suitable 1.5m carry bag.

Flag and Banner Maintenance
While our high precision sewing and heavy-duty European ink is at the best of the best in the market, the inevitable wear of time will fade your flags and banners. Here are some quick tips to keep your flags or banners in a longer lifetime:
1. Keep out of direct sunlight when not needed - our UV-resistant European ink still fare better without UV rays
2. Ensure there are NO nearby rough walls, poles or plants that will damage the fabric - constant friction may cause irregular tear, as the number one reason for failure.
3. Make sure the flag or banner is setup correctly - push flag to the end of pole tip and tie the cord stopper accordingly
4. Keep your poles for your teardrop or feather banners away from surrounding objects - avoid pole damage caused by collision with other strong obstacles due to wind
5. Not for very windy days - it's a good idea to take down your large banners if wind speeds exceed 55km/h, your small banners if wind speeds exceed 65km/h
6. Wash only when necessary - when washing do not use detergent, rinse in water only, no washing machine.
