Both sizes include a custom-printed feather flag, the matching heavy-duty fibreglass pole set and your selected base. The feather shape provides a long, relatively straight advertising area, making it especially useful when your artwork contains more than a simple logo or short message.

Choose the small size when portability, quick setup and limited display space are important. Choose the large size when you need stronger long-distance visibility and more room for branding or promotional information.

If you already own compatible hardware, you can also order a custom replacement feather flag only.

3. Single-Sided vs Double-Sided Feather Flags

• Single-sided 110gsm polyknit: The design reads correctly on the main side and appears mirrored on the reverse through the fabric. This is the lightest and most economical option and works well for simple logos and designs.
• Double-sided standard 120gsm polyknit: Two printed fabric layers with an internal blockout layer provide correct reading on both sides. This is our most popular double-sided option and offers a good balance of visibility and value.
• Double-sided premium 150gsm satin: Two silver-backed blockout satin layers provide correct reading on both sides, rich colour and a smooth premium appearance. This option is ideal when presentation and fine print quality are especially important.

The best flag base depends mainly on where your feather flag will be displayed and how often it will be moved. A ground spike is normally the simplest option for grass, while weighted bases are more suitable for concrete, paving and indoor venues.

Ground spike: The standard and most popular option for grass, soil and other firm soft-ground locations.

Best for: real estate open homes, outdoor events, sports fields, lawns, roadside grass areas and regular business use on soft ground.

10kg or 20kg steel plate base: Strong low-carbon steel bases for hard, level surfaces. The 20kg option provides additional weight where greater stability is required.

Best for: shopfronts, forecourts, showrooms, paved areas and frequent daily use.

Large water tank base: Approximately 14kg when filled with water and around 18kg when filled with sand. It is easier to transport when empty than a steel plate.

Best for: hard surfaces, mobile promotions, events and locations requiring a portable weighted base.

Cross base with water bag: A foldable cross base combined with a PVC water bag weighing approximately 8–9kg when filled.

Best for: indoor events, trade shows and temporary displays where portability and fast setup are important.

Multi-angle wall bracket: A fixed bracket for mounting the flag to a suitable building or fence at either 0° or 30°.

Best for: shopfront mounting where a ground base is impractical. Installation must be completed securely on a suitable structure.

Car wheel base: A foldable base held securely under a stationary vehicle wheel.

Best for: car yards, property promotions, motorsport events, roadside advertising and displays beside parked vehicles.

For an outdoor event or promotional setup, a separate gazebo mount flag base is also available. Due to lower demand, it is sold separately and is not included among the seven standard kitset base options.

5. Feather Flag Artwork and Design Templates

The long feather shape provides useful space for vertically arranged logos, business names, promotional messages and other information. If your design contains several lines of text or multiple elements, a feather flag can often accommodate the layout more naturally than a heavily curved flag shape.

Print-Ready Artwork Requirements for Feather Flags

• Keep important logos, text and design elements inside the safe sewing lines shown on the template.
• Convert all fonts to curves or outlines before supplying the final artwork.
• Use CMYK artwork. Supply a Pantone Solid Coated colour reference when accurate brand-colour matching is required.
• Vector PDF, AI, EPS or SVG artwork is preferred.
• High-resolution bitmap images should normally be at least 100dpi at final print size.

6. How to Assemble Your Feather Flag Kitset

One advantage of a feather flag is how quickly it can be set up and packed away. This is useful when the display needs to move regularly between locations, such as real estate open homes, temporary promotions, markets or events.

Connect the fibreglass pole sections securely, slide the pole through the flag sleeve until the tip reaches the reinforced end, then attach and tension the bottom cord using the cord lock. Finally, place the pole onto your selected flag base and make sure the flag can rotate freely.

One Disadvantage of Feather Flags in Windy Locations

A feather flag has a free flying edge. This gives the flag movement in the wind, but repeated flapping also creates additional wear along the flying end. In a consistently windy location, the flying edge of a feather flag can therefore wear or fray sooner than a comparable teardrop flag.

A custom teardrop flag kitset may be a better choice for a windy site because more of the fabric is held in its curved, tensioned shape and there is less free fabric continually flapping at the outer edge.

Neither style is designed for storms or severe wind. All portable advertising flags should be taken down when conditions become unsafe.

While our high precision sewing and heavy-duty European ink is at the best of the best in the market, the inevitable wear of time will fade your flags and banners. Here are some quick tips to keep your flags or banners in a longer lifetime:

1. Keep out of direct sunlight when not needed - our UV-resistant European ink still fare better without UV rays

2. Ensure there are NO nearby rough walls, poles or plants that will damage the fabric - constant friction may cause irregular tear, as the number one reason for failure.

3. Make sure the flag or banner is setup correctly - push flag to the end of pole tip and tie the cord stopper accordingly

4. Keep your poles for your teardrop or feather banners away from surrounding objects - avoid pole damage caused by collision with other strong obstacles due to wind

5. Not for very windy days - it's a good idea to take down your large banners if wind speeds exceed 55km/h, your small banners if wind speeds exceed 65km/h

6. Wash only when necessary - when washing do not use detergent, rinse in water only, no washing machine.
