How to Design a Custom Media Wall with Multiple Logos
Posted by Shane Lin on
Designing a custom media wall with multiple sponsor logos is a task that combines visual alignment, branding strategy, and technical layout considerations. If you're managing a corporate event, conference, or promotional activation with several stakeholders or sponsors, your media wall must present all logos clearly, proportionally, and professionally.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through a real-world example we completed for Plaint Events, where three sponsor logos, one primary and two secondary. They were arranged on a 3m x 2.3m printed media wall. The tutorial below outlines key layout decisions and offers useful tools and templates to streamline the process.

1. Identify the Hierarchy of Sponsors
The first step is understanding which logos should appear more prominently. In our Plaint Events project:
- Advanced was the primary sponsor.
- EMS and Master Plumbers were secondary sponsors.
To reflect this hierarchy visually, we placed the Advanced logo twice per row, while EMS and Master Plumbers appeared once per row each. This ensured that the most important brand received greater exposure without overwhelming the design.
2. Set the Right Logo Size and Spacing
In this project, we used a logo height of approximately 11cm, which proved ideal for clear visibility while allowing multiple repetitions per row. It’s important to leave enough space between each logo for visual balance, especially if your backdrop logo wall is used for media photography.
Tip: Keep logos away from the curved edges of the display frame. Anything close to the top or sides risks being cut off or distorted during installation. Always design with bleed and safe zones in mind.
3. Use Media Wall Templates to Avoid Alignment Issues
We recommend using one of our official media wall design templates to avoid common layout mistakes:
Each template clearly shows bleed areas, safe zones, and centre alignment, making it easier to distribute logos evenly. These are especially helpful when dealing with edge alignment and curved frame corners.
4. Try Canva Templates for Easy, Accurate Layouts
If you're not a professional designer or prefer a faster, visual-first approach, we provide free Canva media wall templates directly on our product page. These are pre-scaled to fit our print specs:
Using these Canva templates, even first-time users can confidently design a printed backdrop without worrying about resolution or sizing errors.
5. Final Pre-Print Checks
Before submitting your final design for print, double-check the following:
- Are all logos fully visible and away from the edges?
- Are logo proportions consistent across rows?
- Does the spacing feel balanced, not crowded?
- Are there sufficient copies of each logo to reflect brand priority?
- Is the file in vector or high-resolution format?
We always recommend exporting your final layout as a PDF for clarity.
Why It Matters: Professional Results for Sponsor Satisfaction
Your backdrop display is often the most photographed part of any event. Sponsors will expect visibility, legibility, and proportional representation. A clean, thoughtfully laid-out printed media wall delivers brand value for all involved and reflects well on the organiser.
By assessing sponsor hierarchy, using proper templates, and making strategic layout decisions, you'll be well-equipped to produce a polished, on-brand custom media wall that’s ready for public attention.
